4th LTTA - Turkey

​

The 4th LTTA titled ‘Fostering the Articles in the Declaration of Human Rights’ was successfully held between 12–16 May 2025 at Gazi Anadolu Lisesi in Samsun, Türkiye.

 

DAY 1: The official opening of the event commenced with a welcoming speech delivered by the principal. To help students feel more comfortable and reduce initial stress, the host partner organized a series of ice-breaking activities. Following this, all partner groups introduced themselves, their schools, and the regions they represent. Turkish students provided an overview of the Turkish education system. Additionally, both host and guest students shared information about the project activities previously carried out at their schools prior to the mobility. They also presented their prepared presentations on the topic of human rights. As a cultural activity, Samsun Museum was visited. As part of the cultural program, participants visited the Samsun Museum, offering students the opportunity to explore the city’s history and heritage.

DAY 2: On the second day of the program, mixed student groups were each assigned specific articles from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The groups conducted research on their respective articles, discussed their significance, and explored how these rights contribute to humanity and the creation of safer, more peaceful communities. Each group then prepared and delivered visual presentations to share their findings with the other participants. At the end of the activity, the second group, which effectively explained the articles and their contributions to building a safer and more peaceful world, was selected as the best presentation and received an award in recognition of their effort. As part of the cultural program, participants visited notable attractions in the city center, offering students the opportunity to explore the local culture and landmarks. In the evening, a welcoming party was organised.

 DAY 3: A cultural trip to the historical city of Amasya was organized, providing participants with the opportunity to explore its rich heritage, visit significant landmarks, and gain insights into the region's cultural and historical significance.

DAY 4: A panel titled ‘Why Human Rights Matter’ was organized, featuring a lawyer from the Samsun Bar Association and teacher participants from partner schools as panelists. Prior to the event, students were briefed on the panel's content and assigned specific tasks to encourage active involvement. The lawyer delivered a speech on the Declaration of Human Rights, highlighting its importance in protecting fundamental freedoms. The panel concluded with an engaging Q&A session, allowing students to ask questions and reflect on the topics discussed.

 DAY 5: Mixed student groups formed on the second day created digital comics based on the articles they were assigned from the Declaration of Human Rights. All the completed comics were compiled into an eBook, presenting all the articles in a creative and student-friendly format. An event titled ‘Stand United for Human Rights’ was organized, where students and teachers shared their reflections and provided feedback about the LTTA. The principal delivered a closing speech and presented certificates to all participants in recognition of their contributions. To conclude the program, a coordinators’ meeting was held to evaluate the mobility, discuss outcomes, and plan future activities
