Each partner organised a charity event to help people with lack of resources.

The Spanish team with the collaboration of the entrepreneurship students organised a second hand book sales on St George's Day.  The students and teachers gave a second life to their books and the Town Hall gave them permission to put up a stall on the street.  The books were sold for 1or 2 euros and the money collected was donated to Alba NGO, association who helps people at risk of social exclusion.

With a successful and, above all, delicious cake sale, the school café collected donations for the flood victims in Valencia, Spain. Coffee, tea and cakes of all shapes, colors and sizes were served during the breaks to the sound of Spanish music. Many students donated the delicious pastries to maximize the amount raised. Ms. Löhnert's Spanish classes participated with creative advertising posters that could be seen all over the school building. The fundraising campaign was a great success. 331.30€ was collected. Our local exchange organization in Valencia was able to give us two useful donation options. The profit from the cake sale will now go to Dorothee Fischer and Oliver Sharpe's “Foodtruck of Hope”, which not only distributes food and drinks to those in need, but also provides support in kind. Another part of the donations will also go directly to all the people in Valencia who now have to rebuild their homes via Caritas. Many thanks to Ms. Löhnert and her Spanish classes, the entire school café team, all the cake bakers and of course to all of you!

Spreading Smiles: Pinheiro School Group Supports Operação Nariz Vermelho

At the Agrupamento de Escolas de Pinheiro, we believe that education goes far beyond the classroom — it also shapes caring, compassionate hearts that are aware of others. With this in mind, we recently joined forces with the NGO Operação Nariz Vermelho (Operation Red Nose), in an initiative aimed at bringing joy and hope to hospitalized children. Over the course of several weeks, teachers and students came together for this noble cause, promoting the sale of red noses, mime and sound games, notebooks, bracelet kits, and pins. Each item sold represented more than just a donation — it was a small act of kindness with a big impact. The involvement of our school community was remarkable: enthusiasm, commitment, and generosity filled our halls. It was heartwarming to see students of all ages taking part with dedication, fully aware that they were helping children who are going through difficult times in hospital.

All the money raised was entirely donated to Operação Nariz Vermelho, supporting the wonderful work of the “Clown Doctors” — true artists of joy who help turn the hospital environment into a brighter, more human, and more colorful place. This partnership was more than an exercise in active citizenship; it was a powerful lesson in empathy that will remain in the memories and hearts of everyone involved. Because to educate is also to teach how to look at others with compassion — and in this case, with a red nose and a smile.

Together, we proved that solidarity is contagious, and that with small gestures, we can make a big difference.

Gazi Anadolu Lisesi / TURKEY

We organized a charity event to support students with limited resources. We announced the event through posters and asked our students to donate books they no longer needed. We collected around 165 books, which were then made available for students to take freely. Thanks to this activity, students developed a sense of sharing and unity.
