Entrepreneurship activity 3: Planting trees

We also agreed to plant trees since one of the main points of this project is to combat climate change, stop pollution and have a better use of the Earth resources.

Institut Europa

Institut Europa as a Green school and with the collaboration of the Erasmus team has celebrated the Earth Day planting trees in the playground of the school. As you know, trees purify the air and stop pollution by absorbing harmful pollutants such as nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide, and ozone. And through photosynthesis, trees also release oxygen, which is vital for our health.

Now, we have a more ecological and attractive playground.

Agrupamento de Escolas de Pinheiro

Agrupamento de Escolas de Pinheiro is an Eco-School because it belongs to an international program run by the Foundation for Environmental Education and developed in Portugal since 1996 by ABAE (now known as ABAAE - Associação Bandeira Azul de Ambiente e Educação). With this partnership, AEP aims to encourage action and recognize the quality work carried out by the school in the field of Environmental Education for Sustainability. In this context, the students of Agrupamento de Escolas de Pinheiro planted 6 trees (cameleiras) in the school garden on Earth Day. The aim of this action is to capture carbon, improve air quality, regulate the local climate and promote biodiversity.

We planted trees to actively increase biodiversity. We opted for apple trees, which will now benefit both our school grounds and the pupils. They support our school's environmental program and will also offer the students a chance to eat a little more vitamin-rich food with fresh apples in the future.

In our schoolyard, students planted a tree. It may be a small step toward protecting our world, but with the awareness that every small action matters, we encouraged our students to take meaningful steps to reduce human impact on the environment.
